They believe

Blood will be splattered on the concrete. They believe
the cries of animals will ring through the street, they believe

the headlines, assumptions without facts, and in tweets.
Whatever is said with violent images they repeat, they believe.

Are we not intellectuals, how did curiosity become obsolete?
So, God made a farmer to end every heartbeat, they believe.

But God made the farmer to toil so the world may eat,
To see the beautiful, the ugly, cold, the heat. They believe

in substitutes, but where are they? The concept is incomplete,
the farmer grows the world they try to beat. They believe

times have changed, but regardless of views people must eat.
Triggered by advertisements and words like “mistreat”, they believe

that is the truth, so they fight in ignorant deceit.
Such things are powerful and the sheep long to bleat, they believe.
